All injection molding is comprised of three main elements: the mold, the clamping unit, and the injection unit. The mold is a machined part that can make custom plastic parts in whatever size and shape are required. The clamping unit is what holds the two halves of the mold together. To deliver the molten plastic, that's where the injection unit comes in. The amount of plastic that is delivered depends on the mold that is being used.
